Thomas Weifan Mon

Associate Patent Attorney

Thomas specializes in computer and software patents, driven by his deep knowledge of technology — and fierce belief in its power to improve our world.

After earning his undergraduate degree in computer science, he worked in the technology sector for many years. It was during this time he became fascinated with the smartphone revolution, and the highly-publicized patent disputes it sparked.

Inspired by the pivotal role patents play in technology, Thomas pivoted his career. He earned his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Rutgers University Law School in 2014. While at Rutgers, Thomas completed an externship with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), giving him valuable insight into how the federal government manages patents.

Now as an associate patent lawyer, he leverages his technical expertise to interrupt complex ideas and ensure they are legally protected. He revels in the details of technical inventions — skillfully spotting the key features that will require legal safeguarding. Thomas prides himself on exceptional client service, proactively looking for ways he can help his clients secure the best possible outcome.
